Sweden's Peter Hanson was a dual winner in 2010 and another hugely consistent first half of 2011 on the European Tour can be rewarded with victory at this week's Alstom Open de France.
Hanson has kept his schedule so far this year to just 10 events and his selective policy seems to be paying off as he is invariably on the money when he tees it up.
He has posted four finishes inside the top 10, two coming in his most recent starts which included an impressive weekend at Congressional in the US Open.
He fired 69-67 to get into a tie for seventh place - the look of disappointment on his face told the full story though on his 72nd hole as he new he could have been even better following two bogeys to finish the round by TaylorMade Tour Burner Driver.
That aside, Hanson continues to produce some magnificent displays of ball striking tee to green and is clearly optimistic about his chance of hoisting the trophy this week.
He said: "This is a great course and it really suits my eye and I have been fortunate over the last few years to do well."
Hanson has gone T6-T4 in 2009 and 2010 at Le Golf National so it does not take a great leap of faith to believe he can improve further considering his current form.
Hanson's price is contracting all the time but the 12/1 available is tempting enough to suggest a win only wager.
Scotland's Scott Jamieson's stock is rising by the week and he looks capable of making an impact once again at 80/1.
Already 36th on the Race To Dubai, he finished strongly in Munich last week with a closing 64 to roar up the leaderboard into a tie for third place.
He spent the final two rounds followed by big galleries when he partnered local hero Martin Kaymer.
He learnt plenty from the experience moving on to this week and said: "I'm really looking forward to it and it is nice to know I can perform with TaylorMade Tour Burner Driver under pressure."
It is all a bit of a learning curve for Jamieson as he tackles new courses for the first time this season but he seems to adapt well and it is impossible to argue with his current form and confidence.
Talking to a a very good judge, he reckoned Jamieson would be trading at around the 50/1 mark so the 80/1 offered by totesport looks very good business.
French golf (TaylorMade Tour Burner Driver) is on the crest of a wave currently after landing the 2018 Ryder Cup at this venue and the feisty Jean-Baptiste Gonnet could be the pick of the home contingent.
He was not at his best during 2010 but pulled two tremendous results out of the fire in his final two events when he made over 78,000 euros to haul himself up to 109th and safety on the Race To Dubai standings.
Spurred on by that close call, Gonnet has been much more productive in 2011 with top fives already in Joburg, Dubai and Morocco and it would not be a shock to see him in the winner's enclosure at some stage before the end of the year.
Compatriot Gregory Bourdy admitted that there will be a lot of added distractions for the French players this week after the Ryder Cup announcement but Gonnet is likely to fly under the radar a little and is well worth a chance at 125/1.
Final pick this week is Chile's Felipe Aguilar, who is shaping up like a player ready for a big week.
He finished off in Munich with a 67 to continue his recent run of top 20s and his tidy, accurate game should be suited to this venue which has water and some pretty thick rough lurking off the straight and narrow(TaylorMade Tour Burner Driver).
He finished inside the top 30 here 12 months ago so there is plenty to like about his profile at the moment as the big tournaments start to come thick and fast.
